Helen Antebi: Get Out Of Your Own Way

This session provides insight about how imagination drives performance and challenges our potential.

Helen has formal education in mental health, cognitive, and emotional performance through her careers in occupational therapy and executive coaching. She also has certifications in change management, psychometrics, emotional intelligence and facilitation and mediation.

In this session, you will learn how to overcome mental barriers in the way of success, understand how psychology influences decision making, and leverage creativity to adapt to new perspectives.

Emily Cormier: The Issue Of Our Time And Beyond - How The Challenges Of Climate Change Can Be Turned Into Opportunities

Climate change is the defining issue of our time, and we only have 6 years left to reduce our emissions to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels or face irreversible economic, environmental and social impacts.

As daunting as this may seem, there is an opportunity here for positive change, as embracing sustainability can improve the bottom line for businesses – big and small – and Cities are a great starting point for climate action.

Emily will be leading a session on why and how to incorporate climate change considerations into your operations, as well as highlighting the benefits of going green.

Benjamin Feagin Jr. (AgriTech North): Northern Ontario Innovation for Survival - Strong Partnerships and Systems Change

As business owners or future business owners, we cannot isolate ourselves.

This session will explore the way we think about collaboration and offer refreshed views of what it means to collaborate to create strong partnerships for systems change. This session will reframe the concept of “pivoting” as a valid way to advance potential.

Participants will also learn about their journey with collaboration to create a system of change in the North.

Ian Lane & Michael Stone - (Northern Ontario Angels): Becoming Investor Ready

Ian Lane, Executive Director of Northern Ontario Angels (NOA), and Michael Stone, NOA Consultant for the Sault Ste. Marie region, will guide attendees through the essential steps and strategies to prepare for investment opportunities. 

Drawing from their extensive experience in angel investing and entrepreneurship, they will discuss the key elements of crafting a compelling investor pitch, navigating due diligence processes, and positioning startups for success in the competitive investment landscape.

With their deep knowledge of Northern Ontario’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and a proven track record of guiding ventures toward funding and growth, Ian and Michael offer invaluable insights and practical advice to aspiring entrepreneurs and seasoned investors alike.
